If I wrote on my app that I would taking some AP exams, what would happen if I screw them up (like not getting 4 or 5), or if I skip the exams?? Do I have to notify the colleges? Do they care? Is there possibility that they will rescind the acceptances?

They won’t care. At this point the exams are only useful to you if the college you will attend will give you credit or placement for the score you earn OR if you think you might want to transfer to a place that will take the results into consideration in the application process or will give you credit or placement OR your HS requires that you take the exams.

I know plenty of students who skipped the AP exams in subjects that weren’t going to be useful at the college they were admitted to.

Really? Thanks!!
So if you were me, would you take it and get a 2 or 3, or just skip it??
I feel really bad and I really don’t want to feel like I am lying on my app just to get into the colleges…
I really thought I would be ready and take it… T T

If you have registered and paid for the exams, take them. You may do better than you are expecting to right now. There also are some people who believe that just taking the exam will give you practice on that sort of hard, long exam so that when you encounter them in college, it won’t be such a shock.

If you haven’t already registered and paid, then talk with your teachers about how you have been doing in class, and whether your work to date looks like it will result in the kind of scores you would need for credit or placement at the college that you are going to.
