Is there a point in taking AP exams in your Sr. year of high school if the college you decide to attend does not give credit for the exams? Are there any other advantages to taking AP exams senior year, besides for placement, or should one opt not to take them if they cannot get or do not desire credit in the subject?

Been wondering this for a while...please share some wisdom and insight...

when you apply to colleges they like to see a rigorous senior schedule

well, yes, I'm not talking about AP classes, I mean the exams, specifically....both self-study and with concurrent enrollment in a class.

if your not getting credit dont waster money taking the exams...just take the classes

that's what I was sort of thinking...any other opinions?

also: in order to win the Siemens' AP award in a given state, is it usually necessary to have 5's on all 8 exams? Would it be possible to do it with 5's on 7 of them? Thanks.
