Senior year: "C" in AP or "A" in CP1?

I'm in a dilemma right now. I currently have a C in AB Calculus, and I'm debating on whether or not I should drop down to a CP1 Calculus class (Honors classes are full). Which one would top colleges prefer? Johns Hopkins is my first choice school.

Note: I took 4 AP's in junior year, so if I drop AP Calc then I will only have 2 AP's in senior year. My high school grades are a mix of A's and B's (and two C's in first semester junior year, but pulled these up to B's by second semester). I have earned mostly A's in freshman and senior year, and mostly B's in sophomore and junior year. Honest input would be greatly appreciated :)

considering you want johns hopkins: i would recommend staying in ap calc and getting an a

I’ll be honest first- John Hopkins probably isn’t going to happen. It has a, what, 14% acceptance rate? Right, so if you’re struggling with a C in Calc AB, it’s most likely not the best academic fit.

Second- if you’re looking at more reasonable schools (state flagships, top 30 to 70 universities), dropping down to CP isn’t a bad idea.
