Senior year classes for Ivy League schools

Top colleges are very consistent in saying “It’s not a game of who has the most AP’s, wins” (Stanford’s terms). 6-8 AP’s is sufficient provided they’re judiciously chosen. Taking more is possible, but won’t change much of anything - at that point, you’ve proven you can handle the work (and if you’re at Stuyvesant, you’ve pretty much proven you can handle the work right off the bat). Other factors than an extra AP will matter. Top 50 universities/LAC’s will be okay. Top 25 schools won’t think “OMG that kid took 12 AP’s and that one 8, let’s drop the kid with 8 Ap’s!” They’ll look at how exceptional you are - and taking lots of AP classes isn’t “exceptional” (taking 15 Ap’s isn’t the “exception” they’re looking for.)
