Senior Year Classes

I’m in my junior year now, and I’m stumped on what classes to take.

Freshman year I took:
-Algebra 1

  • Modern European History
  • Biology
  • Spanish 1
  • English 9

Sophomore Year I took

  • Geometry
  • AP World (5 on exam)
  • Spanish 2
  • American Lit
  • Environmental Science

This Year I’m taking

  • AP US History
  • AP Lang
  • Spanish 3
  • Chem
  • Algebra 2

I don’t know what to take next year. I want to go into psychology, and my school offers it, but it’s a class that the dumber kids take- it’s a joke. I want to take 5 classes next year, and I don’t know what to take. I have to take PreCalc. I can either take Spanish 4 or AP. I want to take AP Euro because I’m good at it. I want to take AP Lit because I’m good at it. I want to take AP Bio but my advisor is telling me that Physics is important. I don’t know what to do. I want to take 3 or 4 AP’s because I can handle it but I don’t know what combo to take.

Emory is my top choice and I’m planning on applying ED. Does anyone know what insight they might have? Is that a question I could email my regional rep about?

Do most people at your school take five classes each year? That seems like a low number. Have you fulfilled your graduation requirements in art/music, physical education, etc.?

I would recommend pre-calculus, AP Spanish (assuming you’re prepared), AP European History, AP English Literature, and physics.

Most kids take 5 classes. I go to a small boarding school with 7 periods a day, so with electives it gets full quickly. Graduation requirements are 4 English credits, 3 of all other core subjects. I am smart, I currently have a 3.86 unweighted GPA (All A’s except for AP Lang which is a B+ but I think I raised it to an A-. The thing is, I’m really bad at math, and I’m scared physics will kill me.

It is very common to take Bio, Chem and Physics in HS.

Pre-calc
Physics
AP Euro
AP Lit
AP Spanish

Sorry to ask you this, but I think this will help me answer your question. Does your school offer AP Psychology? I’m not sure if you were talking about regular or AP when you brought it up.

Have a good day!
