senior year course load specifically science and math

Hello, I am attempting to get into an ivy league or ivy league like college/university. My first choice at the moment is Brown. I have a question about the classes I should take during my senior year to get there.

So far I have taken gt (gifted and talented Baltimore County’s level below Ap )biology gt chemistry and Ap biology. I would like to avoid taking a science all together next year, but if I must take a science I am willing to take AP chemistry (2 credits) or AP physics 1 (1 credit) but if I take ap chemistry I will be sacrificing ap physcology and journalism.

For math I have taken gt geometry pre calculus and AP calc AB. I would like to take AP statistics but I am also willing to take AP calc BC in order to get into a great school.

Once I attend college, I have no desire of majoring in math or science. Currently, I am thinking of an English major. I am looking for any kind of advice. Thank you all very much.

Take what interests you; if that’s psychology, journalism, and AP Stats rather than AP Chem and AP Calc BC, so be it. Study what you want, not what you think colleges want (assuming you’ve satisfied any & all requirements for classes, such as x years of English/math/science/etc.) because interest/passion for a field ultimately ends up being more important.

One question, though: have you taken/will you take either AP English class?

Yes I am in ap English 11 and I will take ap English 12

I would recommend AP Physics 1 and AP Calc BC (although AP Stat is fine too). Top schools will want to see four years of science, with at least one year each of bio, chem, and physics.

Take AP Psych/journalism/AP Stats if that is what interests you.

Whether you get accepted or rejected to Brown will not be due to your decision to take AP stats over AP Calc BC, so, in your case, take what interests you. Good luck.
