Senior Year Course Load?

I already took 4 AP classes. I'm looking to apply to very selective colleges (Yale, Princeton, University of Chicago, Columbia).

I was thinking: AP Physics C, AP Statistics, AP Spanish Language, Multi- Variable Calculus Honors, English 12, Economics

How does this sound?

looks fine to me; it’s all about what YOU can handle.
-is this more or less than what you’ve done in the past? (number of classes & number of APs)
-how have you done on the other 4 AP exams?
-furthermore, do you have extracurriculars or other tasks you will be doing outside of your schoolwork?

Looks like a good balance. AP Stats, Econ, and English should be easy.

so that means that in 3 years you took 4 AP’s (2 if your school only allows soph+ for AP’s)
thats not enough. admission to those kinds of schools is not based solely upon scholastics, but it is the biggest factor. ultimately, your senior year will not have a big effect on your admission. take as many as you can but just know that you have a slim chance for such schools

^Many schools only allow juniors and seniors to take AP’s.

I took 2 my junior year and that was considered rigorous.

It depends on the school.

I took 1 in Sophomore: AP European History (5) (only AP I could take)
I took 3 in junior: AP Calculus BC, AP US History, AP Chemistry

My school offers 18 AP classes, but they recommend students to take no more than 3 AP classes per year. AP classes are really hard at my school.

Honors classes throughout high school- 8

What do you think now about my chances?

oh. sorry its really different @ my school
“rigorous” here is
4 APs in soph
6 in junior
6 in senior
we do 2 semesters, 6 classes per semester

^That’s not the “average” high school across the country. And are you saying you take 12 classes a year?

My school doesn’t even allow seniors to take more than five AP’s and we have kids who go onto ivy leagues. (And freshmen and sophomores don’t take AP’s.)

But you’ve only take 8 honors classes in high school? How many regular courses have you taken?

I think the colleges you plan to apply to will see what courses are offered to you and how you took advantage of them. Furthermore, make sure you are taking APs in subjects that you truly adore. They don’t want people taking APs just to take them; they want to see you “kick butt” in the courses you have. I think you should just worry about your current courseload and work your hardest. Afterall, you can’t predict the future or know what the people in Admissions will think. It’s, perhaps, a waste of time. Just focus on your work. Hope that helped!

yeah thats good
strong ecs, sports, volunteering, good essay + interview and you’ll have a chance

sorry, i said it incorrectly
we take 6 classes a semester, but APs take two semesters
so the “rigorous” (quote un-quote) take 4-6-6
