I'm currently a junior looking at UPenn and I was wondering what you think of my proposed senior year classes (would the admissions office look at it favorably)

This year I've taken AP Language + Comp and AP US History. I have reached French IV as well as taken Bio, Chem and Physics.

Senior year:
Ap EnviSci
Ap Stat
Ap Econ (both macro and micro in one course)
Ap European history
English
Religion

Im interested in the above courses, and I was wondering if they would make me competitive for Penn along with my 33 on the ACT and mostly As the past two and a half years.

Your schedule is rigorous. The one blemish that I see is the English. How come it’s not AP or Honors?

^Thanks I’m taking the writing one this year for English and my reading comprehension isn’t great and my school reads a book a week in that class so I feel like I would fall behind in Lit. There is no honors option for senior year English though.

not necessary to have honors/ap english. i only had honors english in 9th grade. regular from 10-12. i got accepted. only had 2 ap’s soph year, 3 ap’s jr year.

Thanks and I go to a pretty riverine school so even classes like envisci and regular English are hard.

Looks pretty stacked to me. I took four APs my junior and senior years before coming to Penn.

Don’t forget to try to place out of language by taking the SATII! That’s the best thing someone could do haha

Your schedule looks fine to me, except did you ever take AP Calc? AP Stat is known to be am easier course, so if you’re looking to major in something science- or math-related, you should take calculus at the very least.

I took Calc Honors so to get into Calc BC AP which sounds brutal enough you need an A at the end of the year. So I could try and take the AP if I continue doing well in Honors, is that something you would recommended?

I took BC last year and I would strongly recommend taking it. The course isn’t too bad, and over 40% of those who take the AP exam for it get 5’s. Since Penn (and many other schools) only accept BC credit, you should go for it.
