I have a pretty basic question about what course would be best to take in my senior year. Along with AP Chem, AP Lit, AP Gov, AP BC Cal, and a study hall should I take....

-French I (no honors)
-Anatomy& Physiology (no honors)
-"Senior Symposium"/ Study Hall
-AP Physics (I'm terrible at physics, so this might be a very difficult class for me and stress me out unnecessarily during AP week)
-AP Econ ( Essentially a self study for people who have finished AP US. This is the first year that they're doing it so I'm not sure if I want to get involved.)

Okay, now lemme give you a little background. I did AP Spanish in my sophomore year. I have a hole in my schedule which I did not make use of this (my junior) year. ( I took an extra study hall along with my 4 AP classes and Orchestra). The dean of students told me to avoid having two study halls/free periods b/c it looks lazy especially in senior year.

I do, however, have a senior symposium project. But it's a type of night school tutoring thing so I would essentially be using that senior symposium period as a study hall... but it would still show up on my transcript as senior symposium. I'm going to do the project regardless of whether it's on my transcript or not.

My mom wants me to take the study hall. She doesn't want me to be too stressed out with college apps and whatnot. I'm not sure if taking a class that's non-honors/AP would be a good idea either b/c my school only sends weighted GPAs...

I'm trying not to obsess about this, but it's really hard :(
Help??

Well, if you did pretty well this year without too much stress, then I’d recommend going with AP Economics. From what you’ve been telling me, you prefer not to take AP Physics and do not want to take a non-weighted course. You don’t want to add unnecessary stress to your senior year with those already rigorous courses and polishing your college applications. So I would say to go with AP Economics since it sounds like you’ll do well in it and it’ll show up as an overall rigorous schedule for senior year.

DO NOT TAKE AP PHYSICS, its important to take challenging courses, but don’t bite of more than what you can chew. You seem to already have alot of AP classes, so take a class that you are interested in. I recommend French because colleges like to see that you are educated in different culture of the world. Bonne Chance (good luck!)

I think it depends on what your interested in.
If you are a science person wanting to go into biology and medicine, anatomy and physiology would be perfect for you.
If you good with languages take French I. Taking with a background in Spanish will definitely make it easier. But don’t take it unless your interested.

If you did very well in AP USH I would take AP Econ. But don’t just take it because it is an AP. You have rigor in your schedule so there is no point in taking if that’s ur sole reason.

Okay, well it seems that nobody really thinks it’s a good idea to take the senior symposium. Another option for French is working hard this summer to skip a level and do French II, which does have an honors section.

For some reason, I can’t really let go of anatomy. I did AP Bio this year and I really want to keep on studying biology like stuff…

I agree about the AP Physics. I don’t want to take it anyway! It’s just that looking at other people’s senior course loads, mine seems incredibly weak. AP Physics is also closer to my intended major than Econ… but I would definitely do better in Econ. Anatomy is the closest to what I am interested in… but no honors… that will bring down my GPA even if I make an A+.
