Senior Year Course Questions

Hi, I’m currently a junior taking AP Chem, AP Calc AB, APUSH, AP Comp Sci, AP Lang, and Spanish. I’m also doing AP Stats online. For some reason, though, I’ve regretted taking AP Physics 1 this year because I know that I won’t be able to take both Physics 1 and Physics 2 in high school, which is a bummer because I find most of that stuff fascinating.

I have two senior year options (three really, but I’m likely going to drop spanish);

Option 1: AP Calc BC, AP Lit, AP Gov Pol, AP Physics 1, AP Bio, Adv. Comp Sci
Option 2: AP Calc BC, AP Lit, AP Gov Pol, AP Physics 1, AP Physics 2, Adv. Comp Sci (Yes, I am able to take both physics simultaneously. As difficult as it will be, I’m willing to take on the challenge if it’s worth it).

Ultimately, the big question is if taking both physics will be too difficult. Also, I wouldn’t get college credit for either of them, but I’m still interested in the subjects. Taking bio and physics 1 seems like a more “well-rounded” option, but I’m not that interested in bio.

Any feedback would be appreciated, just let me know what you think. (:

I’d take option 2 actually (assuming you took bio earlier already, regular or honors).
Since you love physics it’d cover most first year areas you’ll learn about in college.

What level spanish have you gotten up to? If 4 or above, then feel free to Drop SPanish.

You seem like a STEM kid so I would not push myself to take 2 sciences at once. Here is why:

  1. One science per year is all colleges require
  2. You can take Physics 2 in college
  3. You will be very busy Senior year…in the fall you are applying to colleges (make sure to write your essay over the summer, you will thank me later). In the spring, Senioritis and admitted students day at college.
  4. You will be very busy with CS and all other APs
  5. If you have any EC leadership positions, you will be more busy
  6. I think you are taking a very rigorous schedule as it is, and adding another science will take away time from the others and it is important to do well in those classes…much more than taking another science.

So my vote is:

Option 3: AP Calc BC, AP Lit, AP Gov Pol, AP Physics 1, Adv. Comp Sci , AP Econ or AP Psych or a fun elective
