SENIOR YEAR COURSE SELECTION HELP!

OK so for Senior year I am already decided on:

AP Statistics
AP Psychology
AP Physics
Honors English
Multivariable Calc (outside of school)

So my question is, what other courses should I add? In school only 16 of my 28 blocks are filled, and I’d like at absolute minimum 20 to be filled.

Would it be better to take a fourth year of Spanish (regular level) even though it would lower my GPA because it is a regular level class.

Or, take an easy honors class that I could get an A in, keep my gpa for senior year at ~4.9+, but then only have 3 years of Spanish.

TLDR; is a lower GPA and 4 years of Spanish better or worse than a higher GPA with only 3 years of spanish?

Please help! Thanks

Can you take honors Spanish?
What would the honors course be?
Can you take another class outside of school?

@IAmNotCreativ I could, but at my school it is very hard (people say its harder than AP) I’d have to do a summer preparation course, and still would most likely not get in the A range

Is it possible to take Spanish at a nearby CC?
Would your GC check off “most demanding” on your college apps if you don’t take Spanish 4?
Are you interested in doubling up on any core classes?

I think he would as I’d still have 8 AP’s by the end of high school. I could double up on core classes and maybe take AP Bio or Comp Gov, but at the same time I’m trying to not have a year as stressful as my junior year :frowning:

For top tier colleges, 4 years of a foreign language, or completion of level 4, is pretty much needed to be competitive. Ideally, of course, you would want to take Honors Spanish and get an A.

3 AP’s + MVC looks like a good rigor for senior year, as long as your GC marks “most challenging” on the Secondary School Report as @IAmNotCreativ mentions above. Also keep in mind, you will have the hidden class - College Apps and Essays; rising seniors always underestimate the time commitment involved.

Thank you! @skieurope. Is it OK if I just do regular Spanish instead of honors though?

How much work is involved with AP Comp Gov and AP Bio at your school. Comp Gov is usually easier than Bio. Would it be possible to have this schedule without being overwhelmed:
AP Statistics
AP Psychology
AP Physics
Honors English
Multivariable Calc
AP Comp Gov or AP Bio
Regular Spanish 4

Yup, as long as GC considers the schedule “most rigorous.”

@IAmNotCreativ No, that is too much. 4 APs 2 Honors, a college class, and college applications is not a workload I could handle.
