Senior Year Courses - Weird Situation! Please Help!

I'm not sure if this is where I'm supposed to be posting, but I hope it is!

So, at first this was an extremely well-written, lengthy post that explained everything about my high school career and current situation. Unfortunately, since it took me so long to write, CC signed me out and did not save it when it made me sign in. Frustrating! So, I'm just going to "quickly" sum it up.

I want to graduate early (and by early I mean 3-4 months). High school has been an absolute nightmare for me. I've had health problems for the past few years. So, this year I transferred to an online high school. It was the best thing to do in the situation and one of the best decisions of my life.

That being said, since I had been in public school for my entire life up until junior year, transitioning to an online school took a lot of time. It wasn't until early December that I really had a handle on things. I signed up for 5 courses: AP English, AP US History, AP Psychology, Algebra 2, and Spanish 4.

I had no idea that tackling 5 courses at once would be such a nightmare. I was used to taking 9 classes...but that was when I had a teacher setting deadlines and teaching me everything. In my online school, everything is up to me. I have to get all of my classes done on my own within one year and that takes A LOT of determination.

Now it is months later and I am not where I thought I would be. I've only completed one course (AP Psychology). I will be finishing two others (Algebra 2 and Spanish 4) within the next month. That leaves AP US History and AP English.

I believe I will finish both, but for the post's sake, let's pretend that AP English is a part of my senior year schedule instead.

So, for senior year, I was planning on taking AP Environmental Science, English 4, and Trig/Pre-calc. I will only need two credits (one science and one English) to graduate, but I love math.

But, since I will now have AP English to worry about, I have to rethink that. If I take those demanding courses, I will not graduate early (or even possibly on time) and it will cause a lot more unnecessary stress.

I am thinking of taking AP English, regular environmental science, creative writing, and trig/pre-calc. Then I will graduate with 3 APs and one more credit than required. I will also most likely graduate early.

I guess I'm just asking for opinions. Is just AP Psych, APUSH, and AP English enough APs to graduate from high school with? Is taking creative writing over a "real" English course okay?

Any responses would be great! Thank you :)

I don’t think you need AP courses to graduate. You can take the regular courses and still get a diploma. That being said, taking AP classes does impress colleges. Is English something you excel in? Does your school allow you to graduate with creative writing? :)

APs aren’t necessary to graduate. What I mean is that I know they look more impressive to colleges so that’s why I’m kinda iffy on not taking any for my senior year. I do excel in English, but since I transferred schools, the curriculum is a bit different and I looked at the course outline for English 4 and it’s basically the same as my English 2H course that I took my sophomore year (a couple of the same books and lessons). I really loved a creative writing course I took last summer and I would really enjoy taking a creative writing course again. It does count as an English credit so I would be allowed to graduate.

Also, it is year round and on a rolling basis. So, to my knowledge, my school does not officially separate into freshman/sophomore/junior/senior year. It’s just taking the classes in order and having 21 credits to graduate. On my transcript, all that will show up are the classes I took at this school: the date I finished it and the classes that are currently in progress.

So I guess is what I’m asking is for over the course of two years (technically my junior and senior years), does this look impressive enough:

AP US History
AP English Lang.
AP Psychology
Spanish 4
Algebra 2
Trig/Pre-Calc
Creative Writing
Environmental Science

And how much more impressive would it look if I took AP Environmental Science?

Sorry if this is confusing. I’m trying my best to explain. Thank you for answering :)

bumppppppppp
