Senior year grades dropping

Hi-

Im very nervous about my senior grades because before this semester, my cumulative GPA was a 3.6 and I had a 3.65 junior year. But during my week of mid-year exams, I was very ill and it cost me may of my grades, dropping my gpa from a 3.7 during the first quarter to almost a 3.3(mid way through 1st semester) in the 2nd quarter(end of 1st semester). My ED ll school are going to get both, but I have been so worried that I would not be considered for admissions anymore after this. Should I contact my ED ll school about what happened before my counselor sends over my mid-year grades and notify them about my situation? Or should I refrain from contacting my ED ll school at all unless they reach out to me.

But during my week of mid-year exams, I was very ill and it cost me many of my grades **

If you missed a lot of school due to a significant illness you can ask your guidance counselor to mention it in a note with your mid-year transcript. Otherwise I would not mention it – would sound like an excuse more than anything else.

Yes you should ask your guidance counselor to contact the school to let them know about your illness and that you have rebounded.

That is what I would advise you.
