I have continued to search through these forums but have not been able to get a consistent answer. For the University of California system, are senior year grades factored into the admissions process, whether in GPA or overall grades? I've heard about augmented review, where they request your senior grades during the year, is this done by UC's? Our school is on the trimester system and we have finals for the first trimester this week. I am a senior looking to get accepted by UC Davis, and want to know if I should be worrying about a B+/A- difference in my AP statistics class this year, for example.

Yes, Augmented Review is an admissions practice of the UCs, but it usually is just requested for someone on the bubble. The other time senior grades might play a role is if you get wait listed or wish to appeal a rejection. But a B+/A- in an AP course will not make or break your appeal.

I have asked an actual admissions officer. Senior year grades ARE NOT factored into the application review process. On the UC application, you self-report all your grades, and you cannot put in your senior year grades as you don’t have them yet.

They only request your final transcript with your senior year grades at the end of the year in June. If your grades get too low, they may rescind your admissions offer.

No. However, I have heard of cases where an applicant is on the border, as the 1st poster noted, that they will look at senior year grades.
A B+ in an ap class will not hurt you.
Important note–If you get a D or F senior year , your admission could be rescinded.

But you specifically did not ask about Augmented Review, I’ll assume. (Hint: google it.)
