Senior Year Grades matter??

So I have a 78 in my Calculus class second semster and I had an 88 last semster. I have A’s in all my other classes. I got into Boston University and I plan to go there. When I send in my final grade transcript and they see such a big drop in my grade for Calculus do you think it could affect my admission decision (BTW im talking about BC Calculus). How do I know if my offer is conditinal or not?

That shouldn’t affect your admission status in the least. It might affect your placement into a higher-level class once you’re there; that’s all.

You won’t be rescinded for a C, don’t worry.

Is a 78 a C? If so you should be fine.

Yeh a 78 is a C
Its just that I had an 88 in the first semster of senior year and im hoping they don’t think I slacked of and let my grade slip

C gets the degree.

Here’s an article you may useful: http://www.collegeconfidential.com/dean/775/

thank you so much. That article makes me feel much better because my average is still a 90 flat which I hope is okay. The only real thing im worried about is if I get a C in Calc after having a high B first semster.

One C grade with the rest A grades is rather unlikely to cause rescission. Any D or F grades, or a large overall GPA drop, would be greater risk. Of course, the admission letter may specify specific conditions, so you may want to reread it.

My acceptance letter just says that my admission is “conditional based on your continued academic success in your senior year of highschool.” I’ve interpreted that as maintain your GPA. My GPA is more or less the same because my grades have improved in other classes. It’s only BC calculus that has dropped from a high B to a high C.

My GPA will drop from a 4.14 to a 4 which is not terribly significant but still…

Chill. You’re fine.
