Senior Year Grades

If I get straight C's my senior year, will I be at risk for having my acceptances rescinded? I am taking four AP's and two honors courses.

Also, are any of the schools that i applied to known for asking for first semester grades? UPitt asked for my first semester grades, so no shot htere anymroe. I have a low GPA, so it is likely that schools will ask me for my first semester grades if they are known to do that. I have a 3.2/4.3 weighted, maybe around 2.8 unweighted--tho i did get a 4.3/4.8 my junior year, maybe 3.4 unweighted. I did get a 32 on my ACT (thank god for standardized testing).

Accepted to: U of Iowa, Indiana

Applied to: Penn State, U of Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin

I very much doubt it given the schools you have applied to. Rescinds are rare.

If you are concerned about your grades talk to your counselor and consider swaping out a tough class for something easier.

Rescission of an acceptance is rare. More likely is a note from the dean of students, an invitation to meetings here you are asked to explain your grades, and possibly some extra counseling to be sure you make a good transition to college next year. But, changing to an easier course load senior year is a red flag for admissions and not something to be done lightly once apps have been sent. Counselors generally sent an Optional Report in such cases notifying the school of the change. If this occurs before decisions are made, it could result in a deferral or rejection.

Actually, counselors all send a midyear report with your 1st semester grades. Most will expect your first quarter (half semester) grades before a decision, unless you’re an automatic admit on stats.
No, it’s not that rare to be rescinded - if you fall below the “automatic admit” threshold, you can be rescinded for instance. So if your admission to Iowa was contingent on having a 3.0 unweighted, you could be in trouble. If it was contingent on your having a 2.5, your current grades don’t matter. Check out the conditions.
1st quarter grades are probably being sent to the schools you applied to as we speak, actually.
And in all cases, your counselor will send a final report to the school where you committed May 1st (or earlier), and if you have D’s and F’s as senior year averages, you will likely be rescinded (not for C’s though).
