Next year is my senior year. Right now my unweighted gpa is a 3.76. I want to raise this to at least a 3.8 by the end of senior year. If i can get it at the end of first semester, will that be in time for colleges to see? Basically I want to know if I can get it up in time for applications to colleges. Also if I am planning on being a camp counsler at a camp that relates to my EC's and I already have the job, should I include that on my application?

but the job will not commence until the summer of my senior year, after I get accepted to colleges

talk to your guidance counseler about that one, i say just put it on and when they ask something or they find out u didnt do it say your going to do it in the summer???1

Yes. I felt like I have said this a lot on CC, but senior first semester grades go on the final transcript.

What about early decision though. If you have an upward trend and you do better senior year, will your early decision/action schools see that?

@giatns4210

Definitely NOT. Early decisions are generally sent in November, and the senior semester will not have ended by then. For regular applicants, the deadline is sometime in January, where your full first semester will have ended.

But can I send in 1st quarter report cards?

@giatns210

Actually, you can. The problem with that is, you have less of a chance to raise your GPA.

What schools are you thinking about?

Early action and early decision applicants HAVE to send in first quarter grades.

yeah i feel like that is my problem too. I got a couple of b’s in sophomore year and it killed my gpa. so i have to work to raise it. i will hopefully be top 10 by the end of senior year but does it matter because colleges wont know. Or if they do it will be to late to accept or increase financial aid
