Chance?

Anyone?

Anyone?

Bueller?

Bueller?

Ohh, P.S. Should I bother sending my ACT with such a LOW Writing Score?

Cornell University - College of Human Ecology–Slight Reach
Swarthmore College–Slight Reach (easiest to get into of your Slight Reach schools in my opinion–that is, easier than Cornell or John Hopkins–for you)
John Hopkins University–Slight Reach
University of Michigan Ann Arbor–Match to Slight Reach (probably closer to Match–if you go to high school in Michigan, then definite Match, but I don’t think this is the case)
Villanova University–Match
Boston University–Safe Match
George Washington University–Safe Match to Match
William & Mary–Match to Slight Reach (closer to Slight Reach)
Washington & Lee–Match
Stonybrook University Honors Program–Match to Slight Reach (closer to Match)

Okay, here’s your strong and weak points:

Strong points–
(1) Great SAT and ACT scores–especially the English and Math scores on the ACT–so be sure to send both sets of scores to your colleges–since you want them to see the high English and Math from the ACT–and the better Writing score from the SAT.
(2) Lots of AP courses (7 is quite high compared to most people)–and good scores in the tests you took (all 4s and 5s).
(3) Wonderful volunteer service in service for lower-income/disadvantaged students
(4) Leadership in the one sport you pursued–tennis

Weak points–
(1) An 89.495 is the equivalent of about an unweighted GPA of 3.45–so without all the extra APs which boost your W GPA you would have no chance at all at most of the top schools on your list.
(2) Your extracurriculars show no academic competitions at all–which are needed for schools like Cornell and John Hopkins

In my view, you are going to have to do really well during the next semester in your classes, and then submit a mid-year grade report to some of your top schools (along with recommendations from at least one of this semester’s AP classes professors) to have a good shot at these schools. Othewise expect to get into the Match schools only.

Good luck.
