Senior year is soooo much more stressful than junior year

I remember back when I was a freshman I used to ask people what was the most stressful year of HS and they always used to say Junior.

Well as a college-bound senior I can safely say that is false.

college apps are driving me insane. I mean Junior Year it's all just SAT, AP stuff.

Senior year it's all that + college apps. Every line you fill out on the apps it just makes you even more scared because you start realizing how important they are.

And these ESSAYS!!! AHHHHHH. Unless you were one of the over achievers who started them months ago and finished them, then I guess you don't care too much but I still haven't finished my essays.

After all of this is done....ah it's going to feel so good.

I think the reason they say that is cuz after first semester, it is heaven

First semester sucks ass, then, especially marching season (=HELL!)

Thank God! I am not alone.

Senior year has definitely been the hardest for me so far!

first semester is more than halfway over for most of us....

It's almost over. xD Think of how awesome you'll feel once you hit submit on your last application...and especially when those college acceptances start rolling in! ;D

I finished my apps on October 1st and I never had to write one essay! ^_^

I can't believe 1st semester is almost over. shiver Musical auditions are next week! OMG this year is FLYING by.

So is it better to have a harder course load when you're in your Junior year?

YES.

I practically ran myself into the ground Junior year, but it paid off big time. I only have 5 classes this year and every other day I get to go home at 11:30 AM. ^_^

D:..
I thought colleges look down upon having 5 classes..

Well, UC's look at "Quality of your senior-year program, as measured by the type and number of academic courses in progress or planned"

Maybe they do, I don't know. But since I've already been accepted to my second choice, I'm not complaining. Besides, who doesn't want to relax a little their senior year?

I'm also not applying to "Top" colleges (although my #1 is a Top 361 USN school), which made a difference.

I also took full courseloads the last 3 years and I'm not exactly slacking this year (my 3 academics are Philosophy, Bible as Literature and Government/Econ so they're not really "slacker" courses).

Only one more grading period this semester for me! Woot woot! This has been the WORST semester EVER. Retaking the ACT and SAT...college apps...10 page papers...APs...Gah, junior year was so awesome... :(

I didn't apply to any UCs MonoTombo. Stop trying to tell me how to get into college and that my schedule sucks; I love it and I've already gotten in to one college, so obviously I'm doing something right.

Besides, I don't know where you got that quote, but the biggest thing UCs/CSUs look at is that you have fulfilled the A-G requirements in regard to classes. They don't care what year(s) you took them.

:( I don't know where you inferred that, but I didn't say your schedule sucked.

Senior year has been a piece of cake for me. I even picked up a part-time job recently because I've had so much time. Of course, I only applied to a few colleges in-state and should hear from the last one this Thursday...
;)
Good luck to the rest of the seniors!

i find out 4/8 of my decisions by winter break and football's over and have as much time as i need to do homework. school is gonna be good second semester

trudat, Little_duck.

Second semester should hopefully be easier. I regret loading up on AP classes. Maybe I should switch Econ AP to regular Econ.

Try doing senior and junior year all at once. That sucks!

Yeah that must stink. A guy who lives on my street applied to MIT as a junior a couple of years ago and graduated early from high school. Now he is happily torturing himself. But I suppose he's enjoying it.
