Senior Year Math Course

Hello everyone, I just finished my junior year of high school [Class of 2018]. I took AP Calc AB in 10th grade and I took Multivariable Calc this past year. In terms of one of my math courses, I was debating between Advanced Topics in Math [further/pure math topics] and AP Stats. I will likely pursue a major in biosciences but am also considering another major in econ/business. Which course do you think would look better to college admission officers, and which do you think would be better for me in the long run? Thanks for your input in advance!

For AO’s they won’t care.

Flip a coin. Advanced Topics may be more high level than you need for your major, while AP Stats may be too low level, as for biosciences you’d likely need calculus-based statistics, although AP Stats would probably be fine for econ/business.

I would go for AP Stats, because often (as far as I’ve seen) schools have math requirements outside of major requirements. Even if you don’t end up using AP Stats for your major requirement, you could use it for general education requirements, or even to go toward a certain amount of elective credits required to graduate (I’ve seen that at some schools).

Any major math requirement would likely mean the general ed requirement. I personally would do the higher level math but it really doesn’t matter.
