Senior year matters?

Does senior year matters, as long as i don't have Cs and Ds?

My counselor says first semester matters especially if its a top tier school. However, it won't hurt if you get a few B's, even a C, on lower tier schools. Even for top tier schools a B or two won't hurt.

Most people seem to say that as long as you're still taking the hardest course load and doing well first semester (one B or something with 3 strong years behind you won't hurt), you should be fine at top tier schools.

Other than for EA or ED schools, your first semester grades are just as important as junior year. (Many EA and ED schools will want to see your first mid-marking period grades from senior year.) Second semester is not as important, unless your grades tank (in which event your acceptance may be revoked).
