What do you think you will major in in college?
Does your HS/state have a requirement for 4 years of math?
I see no Math or science …what type of college do you want to apply to?
I would look on there website and see what they reccomend/require for HS classes.
You could take AP Stats or AP CalcBC or take something at your Community College via Dual Enrollment
Can you dual enroll or take AP stats?
Or will your counselor explain you took all math classes available to you?
Can you take either AP human geography or AP psychology, and replace of those with a ‘solid’/core AP?
I’ll probably major in Linguistics, if not, foreign languages
My school requires 4 years of math, but they may be flexible depending on what we want to study. (For me, since I’m focused on liberal arts, the college counselor approved me to not take math or science; Also, I’ve taken math up to Calculus, which I’m taking right now, as well as H physics, H chemistry, H biology, and Zoology/Genetics (current)
My school doesn’t offer dual enrollment nor can I take these courses at community college
My top university choice is UCLA for which I’ll have met the a-g requirements once I graduate next year with this senior schedule.
I can’t really take AP Calc because the teacher is super selective with who can take his class, and since I’m not a STEM student, I wouldn’t really fit in. Besides, I was with him for one week in Algebra 2 freshman year, and I basically got kicked out, so…
As for AP Stats, I will take this class ONLY IF AP Human conflicts with AP Psych on my schedule since they’re both electives. Then, I would technically drop AP Human
If this helps, here are the classes I’ve taken throughout my high school career (By the way, I can take up to seven full classes, but I’m only taking six full classes senior year so I can have study hall to work on college apps and other related things):
Freshman:
English 9
Spanish 9
Algebra II
Honors Chem
World History I
French I
Instrumental Music I/II
Sophomore:
English 10
Spanish 10
Pre-calc
Honors Bio
AP World History
French III
Instrumental Music I/II
Junior (current):
AP English Lang
AP French
AP Spanish Lit
US History
Calculus
Genetics/Zoology
OK then… Still not sure, but since you’ve taken calculus I think your schedule is okay. But you need to take either AP psychology OR AP human geography and one from AP economics, AP European history, AP Gov.
Alternatively :
If you can dual enroll, take philosophy.
If you’re interested in linguistics (which is about abstract systems) try to take a class in programming or perhaps AP CS principles.
Do you live in California?
Have you started looking at universities? Have you talked 'budget’with your parents?
@MYOS1634 I live in Puerto Rico. Also, I already have a preliminary list of universities I plan on applying to universities such as UCLA, USC, UC Berkely, Stanford, Duke, UNC, NYU, Baylor, George Washington University… These are some of my top choices; I still haven’t chosen safe schools yet. And yes, I’ve spoken about budget and have done research on scholarship programs (I applied for QuestBridge).
By the way, dual enrollment doesn’t really exist here.
And like I said, the only thing I would change from this schedule is that if AP Human is at the same time as AP Psych, I’ll take AP Stats instead of AP Human
If you applied to Questbridge summer scholars and are Questbrisge eligible, then UC’s are not possible - they’ve stopped giving financial aid to oos candidates.
Unc does meet need but is highly selective for oos applicants.
GWU doesn’t meet need.
Run the NPC on all these colleges.
Look for ‘colleges that meet 100%need’ in priority.
