Hi all, I’m new to the College Confidential site, and hope you can help me in regard to scheduling for my senor year.
The schedule that I am signed up for next year (which can be changed of course is:
AP Computer Science (my intended major and passion)
AP Physics 1 (wanted to try out all sciences)
AP Statistics
Honors Calculus (A less rigorous version of AB)
Honors American Literature (already took AP Lang and lit)
Other easy classes like gym
Quarter long study hall session.
I am fine with my current schedule however I have increasingly been wanting to take AP Chemistry because I enjoy and am doing well in Honors Chem. I like Chemistry more than the other sciences so far, and I figures if I can handle it I should opt to take it. However I am also wondering whether or not I should take AP Calculus AB, and if it is essential to take for a computer science major. I am just worried about whether I can handle the rigor. In Honors Pre-Calculus (trig, analysis and basic intro to calculus) I have maintained a low B average, but only because since the second semester I have sort of gained a more refined work ethic in terms of studying (I sort of wasted the beginning of my junior year. I don’t think I can handle both AP Chem and AP Calc, so which one should I take?
Also most of the colleges I am applying to give credit for both but only in the four and five range
