Hey I would like your opinions about what I should do for my senior year schedule. Right now I enrolled in 4 APs (Chem, Bio, Calc BC, and Lit) and a semester of health (its needed to graduated) and a college level economics class (I tried to take AP Econ but it couldn’t fit). I have one period left and I can chose between band or Latin 3. For reference, I have taken Spanish 2R (9th grade), 3H (10th grade), and a college course 200H/201H (11th grade). I also took Latin 1R (9th grade) and Latin 2R (10th grade). I really do not want to take AP Spanish because it is ridiculously hard at my school. Should I take Latin 3R to have a language every year or should I stick with band (which I’ve been doing since 9th grade)?
If you like band I would say do band.
You shouldn’t take both AP Bio and AP chem together. Each is very time consuming and difficult.
Latin would be better but you already have your language credits for university entrance so if you prefer band, take band.
My realistic advice would be to take both band and Latin, dropping either ap chem or ap Bio.
My vote is for band over Latin.
There were students at my daughter’s school, my daughter included, that doubled up on AP sciences senior year. It was time consuming and difficult, but doable. My daughter opted to double up on AP Physics C and AP chem.
Stick with band. From an AO standpoint, staying 4 years in band shows you have dedication. That counts for quite a few brownies.
I’d stay with band. I had the same option this school year (as I am a now-graduated senior). I took 4 AP’s (Econ, Lit, Stats, Bio) and had the option to take AP Psych or play golf. I know I made the right decision, that class allowed me to stay grounded and take some time to relax and just have fun. Colleges already know you’re taking a difficult schedule, let them know you have passions and dedication.
