Senior Year Schedule Help

I am registering for classes for the 2019-2020 school year very soon. However, I am really confused about what classes I should take.

Freshman Year:
AP Human Geography
Computer Science Principles
Gifted Chemistry
Gifted Geometry/Algebra 2
Gifted Language Arts
Health/PE

Sophomore Year:
AP World History
German 1
AP Physics
Gifted Precal
Gifted Language Arts
AP CompSci A

Junior Year:
APUSH
German 2 Honors
AP Chemistry
AP Calc BC
AP Seminar (county counts this as two different grade books)
Theater fundamentals (needed for the STEAM Program)

Senior Year?
AP Gov/AP Econ
German 3 honors
Peer Leading (if I get in) or AP Psych (if I don’t get in peer leading)
AP Stat or Multivariable Calc
AP Research
Honors Brit Lit (maybe AP Lang or AP Lit)

I don’t know what should I take for math (I want to be a comp sci or engineering major), also I don’t really like the teacher for AP Stat. And I don’t know whether to take a Honors Brit Lit, AP Lang, or AP Lit. I honestly do not like AP Seminar, so I don’t know if taking an AP English class is right for me. Plus, is it right to not take a science this year? I already have my science credits to graduate and don’t want to take AP Bio.

For CS or engineering, I’d suggest Multivariable Calculus.

AP Lit is the typical senior year English class in DD’s high school, but looks like you have some other nice options, any of which should be fine.

Colleges usually want to see a year each of biology, chemistry, and physics. It won’t be a deal breaker if you don’t take them, but as a STEM hopeful, you’ll be at a disadvantage when up against applicants who do have them all. Physics C is also an excellent option for a future engineer. Consider carefully whether, as a STEM major, you want to submit an application to colleges without a senior year science class. For top schools, it’s about far more than just meeting the minimum.

Was it AP Pysics 1 what you took your Sophomore year? If you don’t want bio, can you take AP Physics C instead?

MVC and Honors Lit, definitely.
See if you could take AP Physics C rather than AP Seminar/Research since you don’t like it?

@MYOS1634 I have to stay in AP Seminar/Research. It’s impossible to quit an AP class at my school unless I’m failing miserably.

@Groundwork2022 I took bio honors in the 8th grade and have finished 4 years of high school science (technically). I personally don’t feel too comfortable taking AP Physics C.

Please think carefully about what you have said: you want to study computer science and/or engineering, but you don’t “feel too comfortable” with Physics C and you don’t want to take a science class senior year.

You have selected two highly competitive majors. There are universities outside the top 50 that accept only around 10% of applicants as direct admits to their CS and engineering departments. How likely is it that those lucky 10% met only the minimum high school requirements?

Of course there are colleges that don’t admit by major (or offer auto admit), but you will still going to have to survive some difficult weed out classes. One of which is college physics.
