Senior Year Schedule?

Hi guys - I currently have a huge issue. Because of huge scheduling issues this year, I wasn’t able to take a science, meaning that the only sciences I will have going into senior year are (Regents level) Chemistry, Biology, and Earth Science. For senior year, I want to be able to double up on sciences, taking either AP Chem/AP Bio, and Regents Physics.

However, with how my schedule looks, I have no way to fit in both sciences at once.

My senior year schedule will probably look something like this:
AP CSP/AP French/Latin (one of the 3)
AP English Lit
AP Euro
AP Calc AB
Physics
Physics/Gym
Gov + Eco
Health + Study Hall

The problem I have is that in order to fit in AP Chem/Bio (Which runs two periods), I’d have to find a way to convince my guidance counselor to let me take Gov, Eco, and Health all online (We don’t have a summer school option for Health, but I could do that for Gov+Eco), but at the same time, looking at online resources, I don’t have ~$1,500 to sink into getting those credits outside of school. Does anyone have a solution to this problem that would allow me to double up on my sciences?

Take AP Biology, as AP Chemistry is a ridiculously hard course. AP Chemistry has a notoriously hard AP Exam, where it isn’t a surprise when almost everyone in a class gets a 1. On top of that, unless you are ridiculously strong at the subject, your grade will not be too fantastic either. However, if it is your thing, you can take it, but be warned.
AP Biology is definitely the right way to go if you want to become a doctor or some other role in the medical field. The labs are fun, the class is interesting, and the workload can be manageable. The tests are really hard, but the amount of projects and other assignments one gets makes up for it.
It’s your choice, but see which one you like the most.

Would your school accept your taking gov and econ through FLVS? I think they even have an honors option. Health online during the year should be OK.
AP French would be more rigorous than AP CSP but would be a lot more work.

The problem is it says (I’m in New York) that it would cost me ~$1200 just to take the three classes, and I don’t have the money to put into that.

what about “collegenow” summer classes?

I have no idea what that is :-/
But looking it up from what I see that may only be applicable to students in New York City??

Anything similar at your school? Dual enrollment? Any process through BOCE?

Drop the language or the history and take AP Bio???

@jerseygirl188: not an option since both are core courses. Op could switch to the Honors version of euro if offered but that’s about it.

There IS a process through boces that would allow me to take Gov+Eco - But the problem is there’s not one offered for health - and since AP Chem is a 2-period class, I need to drop 2 periods - and I can’t forfeit AP Euro (Which would then be my only History), AP Calc, English, and I would prefer to also be able to keep the AP Comp Sci/Language credit :0

Then, start there. Take ECON+ gov through BOCE. Look for options for Health - are you sure it’s not offered during summer school or any other way?

I’m quite sure it isn’t offered through summer school - I’m looking for cheap/free online courses I could take that would be used for credit (I’m talking like ~$100 at most for each course, but I’ve seem almost nothing for that cheap)
