Senior Year w/ a C?

So I literally just came home from taking my AP Calculus BC final exam and I got a really bad grade which pushed my first semester grade down to a C. I guess that’s my grade for the semester unless my teacher decides to curve the test or add in assignments for points. The thing is, I’m a senior who applied to only 4 colleges: San Jose State, UC Davis, UCSD and Cal Poly SLO. I’m so afraid that my chances for 3/4 of those schools have decreased by ALOT. I know that obviously there will be other factors is determining my admission but right now I just want to know how badly this first semester grade will affect me and my chances. PS: It was my first C ever. I’ve always been an A/B student.

The UC’s and Cal States do not consider Senior grades for admission decisions. Your Senior grades are used to maintain your provisional admission once accepted. The Rule of Thumb is no D’s or F’s Senior year to maintain your provisional admission. One C will not hurt you as long as you have good grades in other classes.

wow I didn’t know that. thank you so much that really makes me feel a lot better
