Senior year

These are the classes I want to take next year

0- ap chem
1- ap bio
2- English hnrs
3- spanish hnrs
4-pre calc hnrs
5- ap psych
6- theology
7- study hall

In college I want to major in chem or pre med. I want to apply to like duke and wake forest and numerous other. But does taking ap chem and bio seem like a good idea? I plan to stay on top of the course load that's why I'm taking the study hall. The reason why I want to take both is because I enjoy bio and chem. I took regular bio and hnrs chem and I found both pretty easy. I don't think it would be too hard because at my school the science books are college books already even if you are in a regular class. Plus they would not let us take ap sciences until senior year which sucks and that's why I want to take both. I would apreciate any advice anyone has at succeeding in these classes or if I should rethink my schedule. Thanks!!

Pre-med isn’t a major, it’s a track. Major in Chem. If you can handle a lot of memorizing and don’t procrastinate the sciences, you’re good to go as long as you enjoy those classes.

NO.

Do NOT do both AP Bio and AP Chem at the same time. Sure, AP Bio might be just memorization and therefore easy-- but therein lies your downfall. It /is/ all just memorization, but it’s a ****ton of it.

^Slightly false. The changes in AP Bio are taking place next year. More AP Chem-like, in that there will be more conceptualization than hardcore memorization.

I’m taking AP Bio and AP Chem but it’s not that hard
the only reason I regret doing it is because Bio is unbelievably boring and time consuming :/

I would lighten up on your schedule, you need to take it easy senior year
