Senior year

Does this sound like a hard/ good schedule?
First semester: Dual enrollment english, de government, Ap physics 1, Ap calc bc, Ap world history,

Second semester: Ap physics 2, Ap computer science, Ap English Lang, de calc, de chem, de us history, de spanish.

Should I move anything around or add anything?

I would think twice about two lab sciences second semester.

If you are going to medical school, be careful about those DE classes because those transcripts will become part of that application.

Don’t go overboard: 5 college classes is full time. So, limit yourself to a combination of 5 DE/AP per semester.

How many classes do you usually take a semester when mixing high school and dual enrollment classes? The second semester seems like too much.

Are the de classes bad on a medical school transcript?

“Are the de classes bad on a medical school transcript”

If you get A’s the DE classes are fine. Otherwise they will pull your GPA down.

There are two things that you should keep in mind. University students are older with more experience and more educational background, and they only take 5 classes at a time. 5 university level classes is a very full load assuming that you are doing nothing else.

Also, the effort of researching universities, visiting universities, applying to universities, studying for the SAT or ACT test, taking the SAT or ACT test, getting back acceptances and rejections from universities, and deciding which university to attend, and then getting ready for AP tests, is the equivalent of another extra full time very stressful class. The senior year of high school is stressful, and the level of stress may be worse than the time required to do all of these things.

Your proposed second semester looks like too much to me. You should drop something.

What is your plan for the future?

If you are planning to go to a State U, then DE classes are great. Your credits will easily transfer.

If you are thinking about medical school, then med schools are not super keen on you taking the pre-med classes like Chemistry and Physics at a 2 year college.
Also keep in mind that your GPA for these classes will be part of your college GPA for appying to med school.

I would think about AP Lit, AP Gov instead of DE English and DE Govt if offered. The AP credit will be easier to get credit for at most colleges.

Second semester:
Pick 1 science…I think I would do AP Chem.

WHat will your major be? If not engineering or math, then I would take AP Stats ratgher than multivariable calculus.

Remember that with DE classes, they will go twice as fast as what you are used to.
