I see myself slipping, yet, I can do nothing to stop it. I just don't feel motivated for high school anymore; i just want to get my diploma and get the hell out... How important are senior year grades anyway? A prestigous school won't reconsider their admission if your grades slip slightly... like 3 or 4 B's senior year????

Anywayz is senioritis catching any of u guyz yet? I feel like I've had it since the middle of last year! I need to find something to get my motivation that I once had back in my freshman and sophmore days. I feel so damn lazy...

Most definitely.

I've done one out of maybe 4 Government homework assignments...I'm just not the same ultra-motivated student anymore.

I also really hope senior grades aren't that important... I'm kind of burned out with all my classes, sleep deprivation, college applications, etc...

Senior year of high school is very difficult and may seem pointless, but you must try to do your best. If you can get good grades the first 3/4 of the school year, then you can coast through the last quarter of the year, when the weather gets nicer and you have absolutely no motivation to do any work.

The last thing you want to do is slack off in the middle of the year and then have to play "catch up" at the end of the year while everyone else you know is skipping school to go to the beach, and relaxing.

So just keep in mind the harder you work for the next few months, the more you get to relax at the end of the year. High school is almost over, but college is a whole new experience, and you don't want to ruin your chances of going to college in one year (after 3 years of hard work), so do whatever it takes to stay focused and get good grades.

Some high school students have reported the worst feeling in the world is waiting to find out if they passed classes (and are able to graduate).

So suck it up and get your work down now, and then you can enjoy the summer, and college life.

^but what if you are working even harder than before (last three years) but still get mediocore (Bs) in some classes?

That is a tough situation. You have to keep the final goal in your mind at all times.

Stay focused on graduating and moving on to college. My senior year, I got a big stack of post-it notes and counted how many school days were left and wrote from 1 to that number on the post it notes in reverse order, so each day I woke up I could rip off the last number and feel like I was actually getting closer to graduation.

I also taped a picture of college on my wall to remind me that was my goal. At that point high school didnt even matter, all I was focused on was college, and doing good in high school was just a way to get me to college.

You will also notice that days go by much faster if you try to pay attention in class and do the work required. If necessary, sit in the front of the class to force yourself to pay attention (it really helps).

Remember all you can ever do is your best. If you can honestly say you did your best and you got a "B", well that's all anyone can ask of you.

College will be totally different from high school, so all you need to do is "go out with a bang" in high school and do the best you can.
