So, I've been having lots of problems w/ my counselor in getting a good schedule. They're not offering AP Bio this year, so this is what I got stuck with:

Comparative Religions (1st semester) & Guitar (2nd sem.)
AP English
Environmental Science (1st) & Chemistry Lab Assistant (2nd)
AP Calculus BC
AP Macroeconomics
AP Statistics

Is this rigorous enough for Brown, Yale, and those super-competitive accelerated medical programs?

I could get rid of Environmental Science and Guitar and take Biology at the community college 2 nights a week or psychology 1 night per week, but if my schedule is ok I'd rather not. What do you all think?
(Btw, I took both AP Chem and Physics last year, so I'll still have 4 years of "hard" science classes despite my lack of any substantial science class this year)

As always, I appreciate any advice you all can give.

Well, I can give you advice based on my school. The most AP's you can take is five, and only one student took that many. Besides her, 5 other kids got into Harvard and Yale. I would guess that if you have a good application, you don't need to worry about how rigorous your courseload is, especially if you have four AP's in it.

It looks like a pretty good schedule to me. I think they just don't want kids who think "well I only have to complete so many more credits, so I'll just take this course and SAT Prep and Gym." That's always what I thought.

thanks Chris, that makes me feel better. I'm really bummed that my school isn't able to offer AP Bio--we're not quite big enough to get it offered every year. Oh well...

No problem. And I know how you feel. We have a small school too. I wanted to take AP Statistics but its hard to get a fully personalized schedule like bigger high schools give, so I had to sacrifice it for the other subjects I wanted.

Now I'm self-studying it with a textbook from the teacher, and it's really interesting.
