Just as I expected, the effects of senioritis are deadly. After working...pretty hard for the past three years, my final is probably going to ruin all chances.

First of all, I signed up for a less than rigorous course load. Trig, Gov, World Lit, AP Bio and Photography. When semester grades came out, I was pretty shocked. I received a B in Trig and C in Photography. Those classes were taken at my local community college. The rest are taken in high school. Don't know the grades yet, probably ace Bio, Gov and B in World Lit.

And I was supposed to take Calculus I second semester, except city college was full, although I am looking for a class online. I've enrolled in all classes at my high school, a course load of 7 classes.

And I took trig at college because my high school offers the IMP program and I had finished early. Even though the IMP program was supposed to prepare me for calculus, I had no idea what was going on so I retook trig.

So long story short, how much will my senior year influence my admissions to the UC's. I applied for every single one of them. Except Riverside, Merced and Irvine. I had a 3.83 UW UC GPA going into senior year, I think it's currently at 3.5 UW, 3.6 W. My SAT scores were average (1800) but my math/reading was strong (1350) and ACT was 26.

Well, your chances will most likely go down, because your grades have gone down. But since the grades come from a community college, and supposedly classes there are tougher, I think you’re fine.

I’m in a similar situation and concerned about my grades.
I’m in-state and my UC score was 437 - 3.9 UC GPA (unweighted, 8 semesters of bonus points max) and 2140 best sitting and 740 and 730 best subject test scores
I’ve kept up my course load this year, taking six academic classes, 7 total, and 5 of which are AP, but I’m taking AP Art History this year and I’m looking at getting a C in this class.
It’s the first time the class has been offered in years and consequently the first year my teacher is teaching AP Art History. I’m not saying that it’s her fault but I’m definitely not the only one doing poorly, although there are a handful (as usual) of students who are doing well.
I’m just concerned about not getting into the UC’s because of this possible C.
I’m also in more extra curricular commitments than I’ve ever been in before, which isn’t exactly helping academically.

UC does not usually see your midterm grades prior to admission. At the end of the year you will need to submit your full transcript. Try to bring up your second semester grades.

I’m definitely trying harder and being more focused second semester, and I know the UCs don’t usually see midyear grades until the end, but I’m just wondering what kind of weight this will carry in keeping any possible admissions status (since I’m assuming it doesn’t factor much into acceptance as they usually don’t see it) and how much it matters relative to second semester grades, etc.
