Senioritis

Daughter won a presidential scholarship at a small public college. Due to both senioritis and the fact that she took on 5 AP courses, her grades have slipped from 80s/90s to 70s/80s, and she might fail AP Calc & AP physics. Since her overall grade after junior year was 97, even with the low grades she has now she'll likely have an overall grade of 95 (this is weighted - they add 10 points for AP classes).

Is she in danger of losing her admissions or scholarship?

Her SATs were decent - somewhere in the 2100 range.

She also has a number of activities and volunteer work on her resume.

Colleges are used to some degree of grade slippage sr year, and I would guess that the amount varies with the school. The main problem is that she listed her sr schedule and her admission decision (and perhaps scholarship offer) were made with the assumption that she would pass those courses. Although I’m a little confused at how she could be failing classes with grades in the 70s/80s range.

I would call up the school and ask them about the impact on both admission and the scholarship if she were to fail either or both of those courses.

And I would immediately get her tutoring for both of those classes.
