am i the only one here who has a 4th quarter?

Tobsta, but either way, they still ask to see your mid-year report... and ED acceptance is provisional to an extent...

yeah ivy, my school has 4 quarters too - but we're also semesterized, with two semesters. weird... we get grades for each quarter but only semester grades go on our transcripts - semester grades being the average of two quarters and a semester exam. i suppose if i was in dire straits, i could have a counselor send my quarter grades.

what was even weirder, before we semesterized last year, only final (year-end) grades went on the transcript - four quarters and two exams worth half a quarter each.

if i get in ed, i'm dropping ap calc like a hot potato

We have quarters and semesters and only the YEAR grade goes on the transcript. I wish I could drop calc! It's a full year course though and I'm quite stuck

Zant,u surprise me

calc is probly the easiest thing in grade 12.its physics that's tough

huh? we have quarters and semesters and semesters go on our transcript

calc is one of the harder classes at my school - physics is the easier one

ap physics is much easier at my school than ap calc, especially since the ap physics teacher is nationally-known, has worked for the gov't, written our book, award-winning - you get the picture, really knows his stuff. meanwhile, the calc teacher has such a thick accent that you can hardly understand her and doesn't teach - she has students present the lessons on the board and refuses to answer questions (we think on the ground that she doesn't know how to answer them). the joys of tenure! oh, and she doesn't curve...

well,not to sound pompous,but the physics I am currently doing is way,way tougher than Physics B and C combined

i don't doubt it - you're practically a science genius, but we love you anyway! :p

ap is the highest physics available in the USA, akashbansal

I know,that's why I wish I was in USA

*were

lol, sorry
It's not that calc is so hard for me, I just don't like it that much. It's funny because I think I've convinced myself that I'm a humanities person now so I don't like math/science whereas two years ago I thought I was going to do premed. My grades definitely reflect this. My english has been steadily increasing whereas math is kinda going down =/ Funny the psychologically games we play with ourselves.

my maths over the last 4 years- 89 83 79 98 96 91 83 82 66(present)
And my teacher thinks i have a pronounced aptitude in maths.In fact,she has put me as one of the top few in her career for Colmbi Univs reco.I only hope they dont consider it a fake and reject me

they wont consider it a fake :-D damn its early in the morning for u akash! u should just not sleep today and sleep tomorrow :-D

lol my math
A A- A- B+ (now)
except actually I'm taking two maths, calc and stat, so if u average the two, it's decent. You can do that, right?? lol

English:
B+ A- A A/A+ (now)

that's right, zantedeschia! i noticed the same thing during exercise when it would always be hard at the end when i was nearing my goal. i realized that if i set my goal above what i wanted to do, then it was easier to surpass it. these are just examples of things that we notice..imagine the things that go on subconsciously that both limit and augment our performance

who does not have all As rite now....

::raises hand::

lol freshman year already killed that. I know I know pton doesn't count them but they see them and even so, I don't have all A's so

::waves:: me too

::waves furiously:: yeah, let's not even get started on my grades right now. My only saving grace is AP English. I love that class. But I am just simply not a math/science person, nor will I ever be...unless it's applied toward something, like business or economics.

omig im so nervous for midyear reports! I studied so hard for BC calc and ap phys this year because I was sure I was going to get B's in both of them and now I have A's in them and a B in govt! Yeah I think I'm gonna have guidance send a letter about how I missed a lot of school and was distracted when my dad was in the hospital because his heart stopped
