I think I have it already, and school hasn't even started yet. I just lack any motivation to do anything whatsoever. I just want to hang out with my friends all day and do nothing school-related.

Advice?

I know what you mean

I have to write three essays over the summer. I started the first one today and it took me 3 hours to do one paragraph. I’m so easily distracted now. :/

[Stanford University School of Education](http://ed.stanford.edu/suse/faculty/displayFacultyNews.php?tablename=notify1&id=612)

I think that it’s just a matter of finding your own motivation that works specifically for you though.

Senioritis since freshman year, whatup?

^ yeah

I got it second semester of freshman year. Backed off one I found some solid friends. Then sophomore year it came back and hasn’t left since.

senioritis since 8th grade.

5th grade. True story.

Follow your gut and use class as an opportunity to group-plan your nights and weekends with friends.

First semester, I used momentum from junior year to carry me through classes and college applications. Second semester of senior year, I skipped Fridays, left school early, missed practices, came in really late, and did zero homework outside of Lit. I spent more time at the shore, where I didn’t even go into the water cause it was way too cold, than I did studying.

I still did really well though. My GPA hardly dropped. I got my act together and went hardcore during AP week, though.

Senioritis already? Not good:/ Hopefully you’ll learn to rise to the occasions.

I don’t think I came to school for a complete week for the whole of second semester. Not that I missed whole days or anything, I just couldn’t handle going to World History.

It doesn’t sound like you have senioritis. It just sounds like you’re enjoying your summer.

Contrary to popular belief, people DO get their acceptances rescinded. One of my own friends got rescinded from the college she was planning to attend come fall because she got a D 2nd semester of senior year in a class.

It’s really real and it’s scary. Think about how hard you’ve worked to get to this point and how much it would suck to have worked so hard for the past 4 years for nothing. You can slack off a little bit - hell, it’s basically guaranteed to happen - but don’t completely jeopardize your future.

And as a side note… it’s only summer, so it’s perfectly ok for you to not be thinking of school at this point. Wait until school starts to worry about your bout of senioritis. :)

People that aren’t seniors but think they have senioritis know nothing.

^Well said.
