Seniors 2007. Where are you?!

I remember last year this forum was filled with alot of seniors 06 asking about admissions, social life, how the school compares to other schools, etc… I know for one, my roommate and I were one of those people.

Now I just decided to check the forum out and BAM its dead. Is the class of 2007 really pathetic and a bunch of idiots as the lower SAT scores suggest? Or are you guys really lazy?

Anyways, I’m sure some of you got some poly questions. I’d be happy to share my experience and knowledge of the campus during this short weekend before once again I am bombarded with engineering labs and tech writing assignments.

lol.. stop being so mean dude
the questions are gonna start once the apps are turned in and the 07s get antsy about admissions. you remember, dont ya?

I have a question,
From what I've learned from the campus tour, BME at Cal Poly is relatively new.. Do you know anybody in it? How is their program, and how do you think it compares to the BME at say, Irvine or Davis

the BME program at cal poly is currently becoming ABET accred. The only BME program at the UC's that is ABET accred. is UCSD...apparently being ABET accred. is very important.

what is it mostly known for? I mean what is its most popular major? Is it engineering? I'm not planning to major in engineer so I don't even know if it's worth it to apply there.
As far as SATII they don't require it right? How about essay?

Cal poly is well known for its architecture program ... I forget the ranking and comparison but it is very high up on the list. As for engineering, I believe its eng. college is strongest of the 23 CSUs
No SATII, SATI writing section, interview, or essay needed to apply. I've heard they look mostly at GPA and scores rather than ECs etc.

that sounds very enticing! Where'd you find that info?

Cal Poly is very well known for its engineering, architecture, and agriculture colleges. SATIIs are not required however they can help you in the application and for skipping tests to determinining placement for english and math courses.

Though Cal Poly is well known for those three colleges, the philosophy of learn by doing is applied in all other colleges. Best bet is to check if your field is available at poly, and check it out at open house during the spring.

how easy is it to transfer to a different major once you've already been admitted? are they flexible? ....or do you have to cut through miles of red tape?

totally depends on what major you want to get into, and what major you're in. rather, if you're in one college, its much easier to transfer to a different major within the same college as opposed to a different one.
that help any?

ohh crap, i put modern languages as my major and i want to get into the architecture school...
