Seniors and AP Exams...

If someone does not do well on an AP Exam, the college he/she has been accepted to cannot rescind the offer of admission, correct?

What? I don't think they do.

AP scores have NOTHING to do with being admitted to a college, nor does it play any part in admission being rescinded.

All AP scores do is give you credit if you attain a high enough score and are looked at as far as placement goes.

if you draw pictures or leave your test blank, the college board sends a letter to the school you are heading to. or maybe our bio teacher was trying to scare us. however, i have heard of it actually happening

Uh oh. I actually purposely wrote things of questionable merit on my exams...lmfao damn. Hopefully your bio teacher was wrong.

How would the collegeboard know where you're matriculating? Unless they're like the NSA and know everything; I wouldn't be surprised...

absolutely no way. You can always pay extra and have that score not reported -- or make you bio teacher pay since he was lying or misinformed. But, if you receive a 2 on a test, the college just won't give you credit....no big deal.

think about it another way -- colleges are too concerned with their yeild and, want you to enroll once an offer has been extended. Moreover, they have no way of knowing if you have a crappy or new teacher, and the best his kids ever do is a three. After acceptance, they just don't care about AP test scores.

So, if I get a 1 or 2 on the AP Calc test tomorrow, my college won't frown on me? Good, since I have little hope for myself on that one...

I know one guy from last year's senior class who took AP Biology exam. He wrote an essay about himself and another about how he despised biology, didn't know anything, and didn't care about his class. He's now in college.

I just paid the $13 dollars so I didn't have to take the Statistics exam today. I felt so bad because I knew all of the information. I just hadn't studied hard enough to pass it. Now I feel horrible for being lazy all semester...

My son would have paid $100 not to take the statistics exam today. He claims he didn't learn anything all year so there was "no point in studying". He HAD to take the exam because it is part of the course grade at his school. He thinks he got a 2- maybe a 3 if the curve is incredible.

I just talked to all of my friends that took the AP Stat Exam. I am so happy I didn't take it now. They said the open ended questions were very difficult.

harry potty...ur story is amusing :)

Yeah, I took stats two years ago, and i thought it was fairly easy...but my sister took it today and she said that the FRQ were RIDICULOUS!!!!

Yea, ummmm, anyone take Spanish, everything was okay, except SPEAKING, absolutely ridiculous. My level of understanding would be just below fluency, but they had ridiculous questions like "How can/does technology contribute to happiness?" Okay, problem, I can't even think of an answer to that in English. So yeah, but Calculus should be okay tomorrow, really worried about US history on friday :/

I also took stats 2 years ago, like aviatrix, and thought it was really easy...but I heard this year's was super difficult, but since these opinions are coming from smart kids, there will probably be a curve.

My first AP is tomorrow (calc bc)...it should be okay. The two I'm most worried about are lit and physics...I suck at both.

^ GOOD LUCK CALC BC PEOPLE! Strive for a five! Sore for a four! Thrive for a three! Boo for a Two! And i forgot the one about one... strive for a five was one of those 'inspirational' posters on the calc class walls. I'm glad i dropped it now... whew.

My first AP exam is AP English LIt which i'm not worried about but i am worried about AP studio art... my portfolio is still not finished and I haven't matted anything.. i also haven't taken slides of everthing thanks to my teacher's incompitence... grrrr

Took it today, and yeah, they were. I actually knew the material, but the stuff they asked was way out of left field. Multiple choice was fair, at least.
