Dartmouth or Chicago??

anonamous - The University of Melbourne consistently ranks higher than the University of New South Wales in national and international rankings, but this is overall. I'm not sure how they compare for engineering. You might also want to consider whether you like Melbourne or Sydney better when making your decision. Congratulations though - you cannot go wrong with either school.

Do you think that transferring from either U of Melbourne or UNSW to universities like Caltech, Cornell, UC-Berkeley, U Michigan, or Carnegie Mellon is realistic? If I excel at the autralian universities how much of a chance do i have to transfer into those colleges.

PS: I goal in life is to graduate from a decent US college :D

Who cares about rankings? There are some schools that are ranked fairly high that have mediocre academics (Vanderbilt) and some schools that are ranked similarly that are ten times better (Rice). Rankings are a bunch of b.s.
