I have several of the same teachers from last year for this year (my senior year), and I've noticed a huge change in most of them. They joke around much more with seniors, they cuss (some quite often), and my English teacher seriously talks non-stop about sex.

Just wondering if your teachers have loosened up at all not that you're upperclassmen.

Im not a senior (junior) but teachers are more relaxed with us compared to my fresh soph years..
Like, they hardly check homework.. it's more like - do it for you want to succeed.
I don't have as much as homework also. Before, it used to be like, do pages 4-9 from your text book and it has to be handed in my monday. And if not handed in: detention.
Now, it's like, - read page 5-10 from your textbook because we'll be talking it about it on monday.
Oh and we had to do friggin TITLE PAGES.. I dunno if that's done in the u.s.. We got detentions if our title pages weren't pretty with colors.
My teachers are more jokey also.. my art history teacher constantly talks about her boyfriend and their anniversary and where she got her clothes from, what she did in the weekend, and me and my friends sometimes go to cafes with her in the weekend.. lol (shes like 21,22 or something)

At my school, it changes when you get to junior year. That's when teacher loosen up a bit. But senior year is so far the best when it comes to teacher attitudes.

I thought I'd hate it, but my Senior Religion class is the chillest class ever. My teacher admits, "Guys, you have me last period; I get really tired - you aren't going to learn anything in my class." We spend most of the time talking about the freshman football team (he's line/special teams coach) and about random subjects that pop up. He didn't even start with our "lecture" until 5 minutes were left in class.

My AP Art Studio class is just like last year...we basically are free to do whatever we want, so long as we look like we're working. And in Art History, my teacher either doesn't mind or doesn't notice that I listen to music all during class (I take notes on a laptop.)

Yeah, teachers loosen up by junior year at my school too. I think that has to do with the fact that the coolest teachers teach upperclassmen. I've noticed my two AP classes that are senior APs (Lit & Gov't), the teachers are soooooo relaxed. I'm afraid I won't be ready for the AP exam because we pretty much do nothing. Over the summer we had to read As You Like It and my teacher had one of her friends that plays Rennaisance music come in and play for that whole class period. It was fun, we danced around and stuff, but come on! That's not the typical AP! haha. My AP Euro class which is open to juniors too is definitely at least a freshman level college course - we have so much to do every single night, it's insane. But I've had that teacher for three years straight, and that's how he is with pretty much all his classes.

Also, my teachers treat us with more...sarcasm. They're like "You're seniors, you're lazy, but if I have to be here and teach you the least you can do is show up sometime during the period." I dunno, I like it. I actually like all of my teachers this year. shrug

^^Hell, in AP Lang and Comp last year, we read Macbeth...when we did class readings, we 'd all put on funny voices:

Mike Tyson (as Macbeth), Ron Burgundy (as Macduff), a southern black grandma (Lady Macbeth), rednecks, FOB asians, Mexican, cowboys, and very flamboyant witches were all featured.

Senioritis is hitting us all way too soon. I can't seem to start my homework before 11:00, and my classmate skipped AP Calc today to play Super Smash Brothers in the senior lounge. ::shakes head::

when i was a senior, the teachers didn't give a crap until a month before the AP week. the only homework was to read and read. Only a test a month.

definitely. i noticed when i was a frosh/soph/junior most of the time, the teachers would talked a lot with the seniors regarding irrelevant none-school things.

and well now i'm a senior, i'm definitely seeing that as well. they're more relaxed as if to say, you're a senior, you're old enough to take care of yourself. if you fail, that's your fault. lol.

i find them less strict, more amicable, and essentially they treat you better. yeah being a senior is great!

Yes - but only in the classes that I have that are strictly for seniors (e.g. euro hist). There's less quieting and sending-to-the-office sort and almost, hmm, a sense of equality in terms of communication and exchanging of ideas.
