Seniors--is everyone asking you where you're going?!

Sooo many people are asking me, and the answer is I don't know!

In the early round I was deferred by two (Duke and UMich) and accepted by two (Notre Dame and UNC). Now, I'm waiting for 11 decisions (including Duke and UMich). Needless to say I have no idea where I'm going.

Do you guys know yet? Are people constantly asking you?

Mom here–this is the question every adult asks every high school senior this time of year; we just don’t know what to say and it’s easy for us. If it bothers you, come up with several ambiguous answers. “I am still waiting to hear.” “I simply can’t talk about it anymore.” “I have it narrowed to school 1, school 2, and school 3.” Good luck.

I do know where I’m going, but most of my relatives/mom’s friends have no idea what that school is. I don’t want to listen to any more of my mom’s bragging or futile attempts at describing the school, so we just agreed to say “I’m going to UCLA” to anyone who asks.

Eaaaaaaasy. :D

^Just send out an email with a link to the school :-). Be proud of your school and don’t hide behind another due to familiarity.

^^ Johns Hopkins?

I am proud of my intended school! The Naval Academy, yo.

I mean… UCLA :stuck_out_tongue: Anyway, you can imagine. People are like? Huh? The Navy? Why aren’t you going to college?

heh heh

Join the Navy, see the world.

I get that question seemingly every day! I’ve learned to just say that I don’t know, though I can’t wait until May, when I’ll actually have an answer. :)

Once you figure out where you’re going, parents will just exchange the “where are you going” question for the “what will you major in” question.

And once you know your major, you’ll start getting the “what will you do with THAT?” question.

Get used to it . . . it never ends!

Yep, people ask me all the time. Thankfully, I was accepted by my early decision school  Reed College!

@Got2BeGreen I can answer all of those questions too! :D

Yea, I just say, “I’m waiting till’ April 1st.”

Ugh, yeah.
I didn’t apply early or rolling anywhere so I have no news yet. People can’t seem to accept that.

I’ve got into some, but I’m not going to make my decision now b/c I haven’t heard from all yet. And so when people ask, I just say “haven’t heard back yet.” Wish people would wait until April to ask b/c they’re making me nervous

Every time I get a decision letter, someone asks me where I am going. I still have to hear from 12 schools by April 1st.

i get this all the time. i usually get one of two responses. some people think im “wasting my potential.” i dont really care what any of them think anyway lol im very happy with my decision. the other response is very supportive and excited.

I’m really surprised that they don’t know about the Naval Academy. They recruited my sister pretty heavily. When people hear they often wonder why she wouldn’t go there. Maybe more than any other schools, the academies draw students from all over the country so I see no reason for people not to have heard of it.

My mom’s friends are mostly old, Asian people whose kids are already about ten years older than me

A majority of my friends know where they are going so they always respond with a definite answer. Myself, on the other hand, just goes … uhhh yeah I’m still not sure. Then they ask where I applied and list maybe 6 out of the 13 schools >_>

I usually lie about it and say I’m going to this one state school I got into.

I usually tell the truth: “I’m not sure, but I’m probably leaning towards either x or y. How about you?”

Obviously I don’t add that last question if it’s an adult or underclassman…
