Seniors

I was wondering, do senior grades count in the admission process? If they don't count it, is taking challenging classes when I'm a senior worth doing?

I think they helped me greatly. If you apply regular decision, they will consider your 7th semester grades.

Don’t kill yourself with crazy hard classes, but don’t take the slip-n-slide route.

Oh I see, so colleges see my senior year classes on my transcript?

Your senior first semester, or if your school year is divided into quarters (then it would be the first two terms), count toward your GPA. So taking APs, which are weighted, will help boost your GPA. However don’t depend on senior year to boost your GPA, as it doesn’t affect it too dramatically. However don’t slack off and take the easy route as colleges will assume that you’re a “less-driven” student than they thought you were.

yes, it worth it! Colleges look at your mid term grades and your senior schedule, it counts!! Now final grades, on the other hand, dont count as much, as long as you dont start getting all c’s and d’s.

Yay, so theres a chance to raise my average up. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I’m pretty glad senior year counts. Before my GPA wasn’t high enough according to Naviance for the most selective of schools, now I have a good chance for schools I want to go to.
