I wrote an essay about how growing up in a Christian household and finally finding God couple years ago has tremendously influenced/changed who I am and how I viewed the world. Do you think it is UNWISE to talk about religion?

I'd appreciate your input on this such "Sensitive" topic. What do y'all think?

It's part of who you are, and that's what adcoms want to see, so definitely include it so they can get a sense of who you are as an applicant. Don't focus too much on the aspects of religion that have nothing to do you with you, like mentioning all the passages in the Bible without linking it back to you at all. As long as you tie it to your personal growth, your views and your passions, and indirectly your academic motivations, it will be more than fine.

Depends on where you're going too. Colleges look for someone who'll fit into their college atmosphere. If you're going to a more religious, Christian school, then it would probably be a plus. If you're going somewhere where everyone is extremely liberal and unreligious (which you probably aren't, conisdering how important Christianity is to you), then they might would be iffy about it. But I don't think it could hurt you too much, if you have the grades and scores along with everything else. Schitz is right--it's part of who you are. You shouldn't lie to colleges; you'll only hurt yourself. If they don't accept you based on just that essay, then you probably wouldn't like it there in the first place.

But take Schitz's advise on how to approach it--You don't want to seem crazy radical, like you're going to get arrested for bombing abortion clinics or something in the near future. Try to sound sensible but dedicated.
