SENT ACT SCORES ON OCTOBER 21st WILL they reach in time for EA

Also if my school sends transcripts after deadline will that work.

I am constantly amazed at the inability of some students to use the internet as a research tool. Straight from: http://admissions.umich.edu/apply/freshmen-applicants/requirements-deadlines

"Also note that if you plan to take the ACT or SAT in October, those scores will not arrive in time to complete your application for Early Action. "

jeremy, I have never seen this before. Looks new to me. The October ACT is usually taken after the 20th and there is a September ACT test, so it is not surprising that the October ACT score will not arrive in time. But the SAT is always on the first week of October and the previous SAT test is all the way back in June! The results of the October test is always released by October 24 or 25, which leaves enough time for the report to reach Michigan on time since SAT reports take 4-6 days to get to any university. No university in its right mind would impose a June test date as the latest acceptable one for EA applicants. Most EA programs accept November tests and all others accept October tests. Michigan really should get its act together!

At any rate, I have never heard of October tests not reaching Michigan on time, and I have seen test scores sent on October 24 and 25 very frequently over the past 15 years. This year is an exception, with College Board experiencing problems sending out score reports since October 14. Unfortunately, it would seem that this year’s October test takers will not be eligible for EA consideration.

EA letters for UMich start going out in December. I can’t imagine October tests not making it in time either, but this is straight from their website. You can always take your chances, I suppose.

Given the fact that Michigan receives 25,000+ EA applications, I understand its early deadlines and its reluctance to accept the November test. However, the October test should be allowed, regardless.

Does anyone know if Michigan receives its scores electronically or through hardcopies. The Sept. ACT was delayed due to problems with the new essay. However, they said that all scores requested before Oct. 31 will be received by colleges who accept electronic scores on Nov 1. I have scoured the internet for ages and cannot find any useful info.

I doubt all scores requested before 10/31 will arrive by 11/1. Not even all rush scores.

I sent my ACT scores October 25th and I emailed Michigan to make sure they had them. They were on file on the 27th. Michigan receives scores electronically.
