I sent in my SIR and I didn't have to pay any fees, but I heard it's supposed to cost $100.

I got this message:
Welcome! We are pleased you have accepted our offer of admission to UC San Diego!

We have received your Statement of Intent to Register
Look for information from your college in late spring regarding mandatory orientation, advising, and enrollment.
View your preliminary financial aid and scholarship awards. Official awarding begins in mid-May. Please check TritonLink for your official financial aid status - see the financial aid message below for details on how to access this information.

Now I got the SIR over with, what other things should I do?

Wit for a reply from your college, they will send you info about orientation that you have to attend before coming here in September. Basically just ace all your HS exams and what not and enjoy your break till they notify you further about the list of things you need to do.

Check your financial aid checklist to make sure you have everything on the checklist done. This is crucial and you MUST do it before May 1st to get priority funding.

^Thanks for that adl0816! I didn’t check that yet and it said my aid application was completed but that I needed to add a direct deposit account.

@Adamantoise: No problem. The direct deposit part is completely optional, but it is recommended to get your leftover financial aid money faster. @eljeff: I believe they will send you an email with your UCSD email information sometime during the summer.

On the right side of my financial aid, all it says is “By May 1st, provide the UCSD Financial Aid Office with: Additional information if requested. (plus SIR)”
Where do I know if they are requesting any more information? Would it simply show up in the little box on the right of the financial aid, or do I have to look somewhere else?

go to Triton Link (the page separate from Admissions) To get to this different TritonLink page:

Go to UCSD’s home page and go to the tab “Current Students” then select “My TritonLink” Next, click “Financial Aid” on the left column. Select the year “2011-2012” and then continue. It will tell you if any other documents are required

the only problem now though, is that i have to send proof of citizenship by may 1st, but their office is closed and their fax machine is off. If I mail it in today, with a stamp saying that it was mailed today, would that work? Or did they need to receive it by today? Because they say by today, but there is no way or getting it to them on the weekends.
