<p>If I were to compare getting an accounting intern position at a Big 4 firm through “regular” process (attending career events, sending in resume, getting interviews, etc.) versus getting the same position through SEO program, which would be less competitive?</p>

<p>Good Job Firefly! What did they ask you in the phone interview? My phone interview is at noon pst today!!</p>
<p>The phone interview asked how I heard about SEO; what SEO is; why I want to be in SEO; what’s happening to the dollar, oil, stocks; and how I learn about the markets. That was it really. I wasn’t very articulate so I was afraid I wasn’t going to get interviewed. Do they interview everyone pretty much??</p>

Anyone have any stats?</p>
<p>-How many IB specific interns they pick up?
-How many interns go to each IB House?
-Percent of applicants that go through the in person interview and later get final offers?
-Does the number and proportion of students that move on to the second round mirror the spots they have? (Meaning once you make the in person interviews an applicant in lets say accounting and IB both have a XX% chance of getting an offer?)
<p>-Please expand on the information we all know like 450 or so interns in all 7 industries are selected each year for over 45 partner firms (12 IB specific firms). </p>
<p>-Any ideas if the recent hiring freeze in Investment Banking will effect or even decrease the number of SEO IB interns?</p>
<p>I guess most of this information will not be public, if then please just throw out some intelligent estimates???</p>
<p>Hmm, they didn’t ask me any macro questions! Only the basic “How did you hear about us?” “What make you a good candidate?” “Tell me about your previous experiences regarding finance.” I’m not sure, but do they tell you on the phone whether you get an in-person interview? She spent 7 minutes giving me tips and advice for the in-person interview, so I don’t know if is a sign or not. Overall, the interview was very easy and kind of disappointing (because there were no tough questions).</p>
<p>I have no educated guesstimates for your questions, JMIONE1. My interviewer said that I would hear anywhere from 2-4 weeks and I heard two days later…I tried to contact my school’s reps (students who did SEO and signed up to represent it) and neither have responded yet.</p>

<p>Not sure if people know this, but SEO and Vault publish this book which 2008 edition comes out on Nov 25th!</p>

<p>Sweeeeet! I have an in-person interview in San Francisco on December 1st! My phone interview was on Friday at noon and I just received the email giving me the in-person interview. Considering it was just a 3-day weekend, this was a quick process. Anyone else have success?

<p>If you get into SEO-Investment Banking…do they automatically place you into one of the IBank partner firms…or do you still have to interview with the banks separately for a summer position.</p>
<p>If you are automically placed into a partner firm, who do you interview with for final rounds/supersaturday…current SEO alumni at the different ibanks? How does it work, sorry for my ignorance this program isnt well known in Toronto.</p>

<p>Sammy101… From my understanding… Once youre offered a spot and accept it you CAN NOT decide which IB you go to. SEO decides based on “fit???” whatever that means. So no “separete” interviews required although it would be beneficial for you to apply directly since it will increase your chances to get an internship directly and not through SEO. </p>
<p>I believe the in-person interview is the final round (Sure hope so). Everyone - call me out if I m wrong!</p>

<p>I screwed up my interview date. I signed up for 11/26 but forgot it’s the Mon after Thanksgiving so it’s impossible for me to find a flight to NYC. Hopefully I can change to a later date…</p>
