not from my side…sounds like the DC part is really fast

there were a couple of people in my school who interviewed in NY for both the NY IB and HK IB. No one has heard back yet.

Just to be sure: Anyone interviewed AT NYC for the IBD in NY, received a follow-up 3rd round phone interview yet?..this process if confusing

My idea on the 3rd round interview:

From SEO’s perspective, it is very hard to differentiate candidates from 30-minute interviews (IB spend 4hours+). Sure, they will come across a couple of students they are confident about, but the vast majority they will be unsure about, due the competitive pool of applicants. This is why I think for the first time (not previously done or mentioned on their website) they are having third round. Obviously conducting third round in person interviews is out of the question due to costs. Therefore, third round phone interviews provide the perfect solution by allowing SEO to further analyze applicants by just picking up the phone.

Question: Anyone know or have an estimate at the SEO IB NY Class expected for this year??? (or previous data if you have it)

Some things I found about SEO:

JMione1 I agree w/ ur point…so nervous about where i’m standing and if they’ve moved on to this potential 3rd round for NY interviewees~~`

The second round in person interviews are only 30 minutes in total?

So is that like one 2 on 1 interview…

Is it a good cop bad cop?

good good for me

anyone knew what happened to the final decision last yr? or 3rd round last yr?..yark…i hate waiting

same here. but so far besides jmione1 i haven’t heard anyone else getting accepted or rejected after the final round

so ONLY ppl interviewed at DC got the 3rd call so far?..hm…wondering why they r so fast there

Hey ALL, I have been watching this post and just joined! Thanks to everyone for the insight on the in person interview!

oh btw one of my friends got an acceptance, she doesn’t use this post though.

To shuava, I did the interview in DC and I did not get a call, I did noticed that someone else who did DC got a call. SO I’m thinking it’s like JMION1 said, where they will admit you in the rolling process if they like you. And if they are not sure they will give you a call to learn more and try to figure out who is the better candidate. So that means I am probably am not getting in :-(

I was interviewed in LA and received a follow-up call, so it doesn’t matter where you are interviewed, they will follow the same procedures.

thanks giob700 and HARVtoWall…
then it probably means i’m not getting it =( otherwise they would have called me…

Same here Shuava I did mine in NY and no followup yet… However, I don’t think I have seen anybody from NY with a followup.. have u? All the ppl who have received followups interviewed somewhere else… we might still have a chance…

i totally love the word you said…haha…that’s the way i’m trying to convince myself…
i talked with a friend who applied seo last year(he didn’t get in though)..and he told me that DC is usually very fast…

i felt since ny is the largest pool of applicants…they may be having a diff schedule…

by the way,did any of NY interviewee called seo and ask about the schedule after the in-person interview?

Did anyone from Boston receive a follow-up call? I’d imagine that Boston would take a bit longer to process since there are a large pool of applicants.

my friend who applied to asset management just got an acceptance. Honey, who was ur interviewer?

hey blackivy, it was Abdulla who interviewed me.
