SEO Career Program 2010

Hey everyone!

Seeing that SEO has its own thread for the past years, I decided to continue it and started one for this year!

1st round deadline today! Which program did you guys apply to? Anyone got their phone interviews done already?

If anyone has any questions about the program or process feel free to PM.

i was just gonna start a seo thread :)

i applied to asset mgt. havent got any notification yet. has anyone that applied heard from seo yet?

wow this site is quiet. the seo threads from previous years were so much hotter.

i applied for sales and trading and received an invitation for a phone interview about 3-4 days ago. However, all the time slots are unavailable. Does anyone know what is going on?

You got nexted.

As in i don’t need to participate in a phone interview? Is this a good or bad? I’m sorry. I’ve never been in this type of situation before.

for those of you who did SEO last year, when did you hear back from them about phone interviews, in-person interviews, etc.?

mchenge, when did you submit your application?

i applied october 22nd, received an invitation for a phone interview on november 5th.

anyone know what’s going on if they don’t contact you at all? does that mean rejection?

Is this for US citizens and permanent residents only? I tried looking in the FAQ but saw no mention of such a requirement…

i applied by the deadline, nov. 6th. Received notice nov. 10th about phone interview.

which area did you apply to?

i applied to IB-corporate finance

Apparently they extended the deadline for both SEO London and SEO US. I am guessing there were fewer people applying this year?
anyone who applied to AM heard from SEO yet?

jennqtf4, are you a sophomore or junior?

“International students who have CPT or OPT authorization to work in the United States are eligible to apply. Students with F-1 visas or CPT/OPT work authorization are NOT eligible for the Global Corporate Leadership, Corporate Law or Transaction Services programs.”

I was notified November 14th that I had made the in-person interview. I applied to S&T.

about the SEO-U program for freshmen:

 • if I get in for this program, basically all I will do, from participating in online training programs to web-conferencing lessons, will be totally online right? can I choose to do all these things when I feel they fit my time, or do I have to follow a learning schedule set by SEO? The reason I’m asking this is basically to see whether I can do something else, like some other internship while doing this SEO-U program simultaneously
 • how competitive is it? does anyone have figures on how many people applied last year, acceptance rate, etc.?
 • for those who participated in SEO-U, was the experience really helpful?

california sun, I am a junior.

batdoi, I did SEO-U after my freshman year. I personally don’t think it is very selective at all. Everything is online, but they do invite you to go in for a day at the HQ in NYC and learn about programs and such. And I did a full-time internship that summer in addition to SEO-U. There’s nothing about SEO-U’s training and online webinars that are mandatory. So much of what they give you to do is entirely flexible and really depends on how much you personally want to do. As for how helpful it was, if I wasn’t doing an internship at the time, I might have had more time to take advantage of the resources they provided. But in the long run, I feel like I got more out of my internship that summer than I did from SEO-U! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.
