September 13 act curve predictions and discussion

@fireonice maybe 34/35 E, 34 M, 33/34 R, 31/32 S for lowest composite of 33 and highest of 34, but I’m not completely sure… Wanna predict mine?

@fireonice‌
E: 34
M: 34
R: 33
S: 32
C: 33

@engineering2015‌
Worst:
E: 31
M: 32
R: 29
S: 28
C: 30

Best:
E: 34
M: 35
R: 32
S: 32
C: 33

Can you predict mine?
Best-worst
E: 0-1
M: 0-1
R: 7-9
S: 7-9

@austin23
E: 36/35
M: 36/35 (36 is very likely)
R: 29/28
S: 26/25
C: 32

@engineering2015‌ Thanks, hoping for a 34!

I think yours would be
E: 31-34, M: 31-34, R: 29-32, S: 28-32 so maybe around 32 average overall?

anyone wanna predict mine? english:-2/3 math:-1/2 reading:-5-8 science:-4-7

@austin23 I agree with Hawkace’s prediction except maybe science would be 28/29 so your highest composite would probably be a 33

@shirley258 33/34 English, 34/35 or 36 math, 30/32 reading, 29/32 science for composite of lowest 32 and highest of 33 or 34 depending on the math curve

Predict mine?
E:0-3
M:0
R:1-5
S:3-6

@TheCalculator‌

E: 33-36
M: 36
R: 32-36
S: 30-33
C: 33-35

Do you guys think the math section was harder or easier than the june test?

This is my first time taking the act so I don’t know, but I had like 10 minutes to burn on math, so for me it was easy. However, the general consensus was that it was hard. I guess I’m an anomaly.

I didn’t take the June test, but I thought the math was hard. The math itself wasn’t too bad (I didn’t get ~2 problems), but the main problem was I barely had enough time to finish.

The math wasn’t hard per se, but it took a long time.

Did you guys finish the science in time? I ran out of time. The questions were not hard, but I misinterpreted a few questions which cost me time and 3 questions.

how likely is it that -1 will be a 36 for math? got all the “harder” ones (tbh nothing really stood out as hard) and misread a softball :(

Also, I thought English was typical, Reading was an abomination, and Science was easier than usual, but this is coming from someone who averages 35-36 on everything but Reading and like a 32-34 on that

During my test the proctor didn’t call 5 minutes on the math section and said it was a mistake so he would make a note or something. Does anyone know if this would have any impact on the scores or anything?

-1 yielding a 36 is plausible on math . If you did one of the red book tests, you could get 2 wrong and get a 36, but the test had excessive advanced trig & an obscure question on arithmetic series sum which made it difficult.

Do you think science will have a curve?

I honestly would not bet on a generous curve for science. The exams in the red book that allowed for -1 and one even -2 = 36 had some really annoying mumbo-jumbo passages along with questions that actually required you to know science. The passages on this science were not complicated enough, in my opinion, to warrant a good curve.

Maybe, but science was not really difficult. I think it will be
36:-0-1
35:-2
34:-3

33:-4

31:-5
30:-6
