Here are the score results I ordered from my son’s June ACT test.

E (-6 answers wrong = 31)
M (-2 answers wrong = 35)
R (-1 answers wrong = 35)
S (-0 answers wrong = 36)
C = 34

Gosh your sons is smart! :(

Well UVA, show me one official test where getting one wrong was still a 36 in English. Or do you admit you were wrong?

Do I admit I’m wrong?
**, how many official tests have you looked at? I’m not going to take the time to go look through all my tests to prove you wrong. TBH I could give a **c if you believe me or not.

^ Oh, I’ve only looked at about all the tests since April 2003 (around 25 or so). Not that many when compared to your “15”, I know.
Right… All I see here is a pathetic excuse of a loser who doesn’t want to admit he’s wrong when he knows he is.

what do all the -1 0 and +1 stand for ? how does the curving work ?

Acttester, I don’t really care lol. If you need to fight with someone on CC to boost your ego go for it kid. I could care less if you believe me or not. Believe it or not, some people have a life and don’t spend their time on this site to try to prove others wrong. This site is supposed to be helpful, not arogant and boastful.

so does anyone wanna explain me how the curve works and what different numbers like -1, 0, +1 stand for ? or are we still on ACT Tester hahah

^^ Yes, I’m the one suddenly “trying to boost my ego” when I’m just stopping an ignorant idiot from spreading misinformation to everybody. When you suddenly realize that you were wrong, you go with the classic “I don’t care and I have a life [which you obviously don’t]” routine. Good one kid.

@americanschools- -1 means you get one question wrong in any particular section while a +1 curve means you can get one wrong and still get a 36 for that section. Hope that makes sense.

i think it makes sense! so the more negative the number , the more beneficial for us ? how do we find out the curve for this recent sept test ? i am in canada but i did my testing in buffalo, NY .

Plus, I’m the one who started a fight, UVA? If you go back a couple pages, you’ll realize that you were the one who stupidly argued my statement that English never had a +1 curve. Idiot… Next time don’t run your mouth off when you have no clue what you’re talking about kid.

^^ Unfortunately, there is no way we can find out the curve for a September test because ACT because ACT doesn’t release tests from September. We can guess at the curves approximately when scores come, though.

oh great! that works too! but does it even matter what the curves are :S ? i mean all that students want is their numbers right ? once you get the composite score its not like with some sort of curve magic you can change your score lol .

^ That’s true; that’s why we really only guess at the curves before scores come out.

hahah! lol okay.

Acttester, have you looked at EVERY Act that has come out? Don’t run your lip before you know all the facts. After you view every test since the ACT has started you can talk to me. Otherwise, gl with your score and cya later.

^ I’ve, in fact, looked at over 30 official ACTs to judge my statements off of. None of them had one wrong in English equaling a 36. I think it’s a pretty good sample size, wouldn’t you say? Since you seem so confident in the misinformation you’re spreading, just show me one ACT where 1 wrong in English equaled a 36 and I’ll admit you’re right. Otherwise, shut up already and stop spreading misinformation.

Lol, I’m not trying to make you angry, I want a +1 curve. I thought I remembered one of the tests I took having a +1 curve but that coul dhave been from a princeton review book. Honestly chill out. It’s not a big deal. I’m wrong, happy?

^ Who doesn’t want a +1 curve for English? I was just keeping things realistic so as to avoid giving people false hopes.

Lol, to be honest I need false hopes at this point. So far English is keeping me alive.
Also you think the curve on reading will be +1. Reading usually has the best curve and I thought that reading was harder than normal. I think I got 3 wrong in reading.
