September 2010 ACT English Discussion

Linger, I had no commas at first, but after looking at the sentence, there was a comma after called.

called, "Billy …

And the first comma wasn’t underlined. So i just chose the one with the commas because it keeps it consistent.

The third passage sucked.

so easy!! the part that got me was english woman, from 1871 to 18something, emily throllope, what was the answer to thaT?

From 1800 to 1800, Emily Thrsdfs, Englishwoman, toured America.

Afterwards was the next answer.

thanks guys

and yes those answers were “made” and the other answer you kept “it was rice growing season” where it was

GUYS! apprently i was accused of cheating and was kicked out…i fought my case and sent an email to act.org…I need help, i am A’s student, 4.1 gpa…i do not CHEAT dam it…i want to know if colleges find out? or is it just cancellation of the test?

Don’t worry it’s not an academic integrity violation if you get caught “cheating” on the ACTs. Your scores are just cancelled and that’s the end of it.

question regarding the reliability of wild rice for the oqijaba… did you guys leave it the same or put the rice grew well in the tribe’s land?

^I left it at staple food in Ojwwfafagsgsg diet, which was A.

Does anyone remember what you needed to add to make the Ojibwaagsfsf more nature friendly or something. Like how they contributed to the environment cycles

LOL, it was kinda weird seeing the fourth passage had 16 and the last had 14 questions.

@billabongboy628 I choose the answer that talked about birds and waterfowl eating leftover rice.

@billa i remember putting something where the ansewr had to do with nature

@billabong… are you referring to the question where you have to insert an example that would support the tribe’s eco-friendly attitude?

Ok, so for the changed nickname one I put something like:

Eventually, his original nickname, “Ehrie,” changed into “Bob.”

It seemed like “Ehrie” wasn’t necessary for the sentence and so commas should be on both sides of it. Also, for the question that had choices of celebrity, reward, and renown, I put celebrity. It doesn’t make sense to me to say that someone has a lot of celebrity.

thanks man and i swear this teacher is do dumb i had…i do not cheat… god is with me and she will go to hell…end of it…but thanks bro for ur support…

^Yes I put how the rice on the stalks would let birds eat it.

@Ryan: celebrity is not just the pronoun celebrity, but it also means fame and renown.

The answer was obviously reward.

^ billa thats what I put as well…

SoccerRyan i put a comma after nickname and into…

Ok so for the " It was rice season", I think it would be delete, because they said the description first, and then they went on explaining the importance, and they said (at the end of the para), “The people try to keep up with the rise as it is a dire need” or something. The “It was rice season” felt kind of out of context after the description and information.

For the one about “Which one wouldn’t be accepted” I put celebrity, maybe I was going to fast and missed something but it was like “his celebrity” or something which didn’t make sense.

For the Shakespeare one, I didn’t see a choice without a comma! CRAP

For the meteor shower one, I put " give an explanation for the meteor shower"-choice D

^Ah, I see it now. Yup, definitely reward.
